Executive Profile: Kenneth Jacobs

Kenneth “Ken” M. Jacobs, who has succeeded the late Bruce Wasserstein’s position as CEO of Lazard Ltd, has been acting chief executive officer and chairman of the Board of Directors of Lazard Ltd. since November 17th and Lazard Group LLC since November 16th of last year. Kenneth Jacobs was employed at Lazard in 1988 and became an associate by 1991 and was appointed deputy chairman since January 1st of 2002.

Kenneth Jacobs, who is now 51 years old, has been greatly taking part in the global leadership team of the firm. In fact, he had been the chief executive officer of Lazard Ltd. North America between 2002 and 2009. Being the head of Lazard’s North America, Jacobs has aimed on further building the company’s business through venturing in new markets, developing talent in various sectors. These sectors include technology and healthcare and power and energy. He has also focused on forming new practices like restructuring, strategic capital structure advice as well as private fund consultancy.

Kenneth Jacobs is also one of the directors of the Lazard Group LLC and has been a director of Lazard Ltd. ever since November 17th 2009. Moreover, he is a trustee at The Brookings Institution.
